The SEED Program

We’ve been empowering BIPOC business owners since 2018. [new text: *what* is SEED? What does SEED do and for whom/where based? Why important/needed? Where does funding come from? How does SEED relate to Kultivate Labs ecosystem, maybe?]

Over the span of 3 years, we’ve helped over 20 companies by providing access to grants and resources, identifying their unique business needs and solving strategic problems. [transition here - here’s our initiatives]

Our Mission

With the goal of accelerating the growth of business owners in the Bay Area, San Francisco and the Filipino cultural district: SOMA Pilipinas, we provide business owners access to solutions, resources, and our network to stimulate economic activity and growth.

We aim to continue our successful track record in order to generate more funding opportunities and position our network as a local hub for sharing financial resources, knowledge and community learnings.

Our Team

Aaron Orcino


Program Lead

Aaron is passionate about amplifying community and commerce. He’s been a Kultivate Labs team member for 4 years, advocating for small business development. Aaron has spent time at large companies like Facebook and Blizzard Entertainment, and wears many hats: project manager, product manager, program manager and UX designer. This will be his 2nd year running the SEED Network and Accelerator Program.

Aaron is also program lead for #FilipinosFeedTheFrontlines. The program has raised $150k to help stabilize Filipino owned restaurants and have delivered over 14,000 meals to essential workers, senior citizens and those in need.

Aaron is also Vice President of the San Francisco Filipino American Chamber of Commerce. In this role he advocates for the interests of Filipino owned businesses at the civic and corporate level.


Andre Sibayan


Creative Director

Andre has a passion for curiosity, discovery, and fun. He excels in solving problems through thoughtful design and creative strategy. Andre brings 15+ years of professional design experience creating work for clients like Target, Old Navy and the McCANN Worldgroup.

Andre brings that rare blend of artistry and business savvy to the Plinth team.  He is believes every creative decision, every design is built to move a brand forward.

When he's not working, he enjoys eating and making good food with friends, creating digital tools for artists and designers. He’s also known for having legendary living room dance parties with his wife and son.


Desi Danganan


Executive Director

Desi is a serial entrepreneur. He has 15+ years of experience creating, funding, and branding unique business concepts that span the food, music, technology spaces.

Desi is the founder and go-to first point of contact for anyone interested in PLINTH branding and marketing agency.  He brings 20+ years being part of entrepreneurial projects in various roles to economic and community development.  His passion for and push with the community is exemplified in the development of SOMA Pilipinas, Kultivate Labs, Kapwa Gardens and most notably, UNDISCOVERED SF.

His ability to develop ground breaking concepts and unique brand experiences (online & offline) is tied to his mission to create lasting civic effects with successful community development programs, additional investments going back into the community and to awaken what is possible for the Filipino American community.

Concerning Desi’s economic and community development work, his long term vision is to make an impact in the world and create a new history -- what was once collateral damage for the community, is now a landscape of builders & dreamers not stuck to the struggles of our past.  But a future narrative where the heroes of our stories turn their dreams into fruition.

In his free time, Desi likes to spend time with his dog Sumi and hang out at parks.


Kaithleen Apostol


Marketing Manager

Based in San Diego, Kaithleen is a multi-hyphenated creative with 4+ years of experience, working with a plethora of brands to connect with their audience through social media, content creation, and paid advertising.

With her time working at boutique marketing agencies on brands that span across diverse industries like food & beverage, non-profit, wellness and education, Kaithleen thrives in a fast-paced environment where she is able to flex her project and account management skills all while building brands people are excited about.

Outside of work, she is currently the Marketing Manager for Pinayista, a nonprofit community collective of self-identified pinays with a mission to build sisterhood in the hustle. Through her role, she is able to engage with Pinxy entrepreneurs everyday. Kaithleen is also a clay artist. You can find some of her work through her online Etsy shop or a local crafts market.
